Travelling to the Hunter Valley with Wildlife Tours

It’s not a land of milk and honey, and not of hunters either, but a valley of wine, vodka, and beer. Very much unbiblical; very much Aussie. It is Hunter Valley! Australia’s premier wine region, and the oldest in the country at that. So, you can drink your way around on your next Hunter Valley tours.

Located about 120 kilometres east of Sydney, the fertile lands of Hunter Valley yielded the best gourmet produce and high-quality grapes producing world-class wines.

Join Wildlife Tours Australia as we explore this New South Wales region that is home to its homegrown Semillon.

We designed a one-day Hunter Valley tours package that is entertaining, interactive, and informative. This Sydney tours excursion lets you sip, slurp, and sample your way around one of Australia famous wine regions.

Leaving the busy streets and intersections of Sydney early in the morning, we traverse the famous Harbour Bridge, cruising east toward the land of booze and magic.

Delight in the experience as you tantalise your taste buds with a visit to two cellar doors known for the quality of their wines, luscious food, and excellent service. Treat yourself with chocolates, fudges, and other sweet goodies, and then compete for a bottle of wine. All for fun. Enliven your spirit with some vodka and liqueur before heading to a rustic brewery for a delicious lunch and some ales.

The pace of the tour is relaxed and homey, thanks to our fun-loving and entertaining tour guide.

Upon arrival to the Hunter Valley, the first stop would be Hunter Valley Chocolate Company to sample some of their best chocolates and fudges. It is followed by a relaxing cup of freshly brewed coffee.

The sugary cocoa and caffeine best prepare you for another level of experience – vodka and liqueur tastings. A visit to Hunter Distillery, the only certified organic distillery in New South Wales, introduces you to the world of organic spirits. I’m not talking about ghouls and other earthly elementals but of vodkas, gins, liqueurs, and schnapps. Their award-winning Copperware Gin is highly recommended.

A set of scrumptious lunch is served at the elegant Matilda Bay Brewhouse within the vicinity of the Hunter Resort. There will be a wide range of food choices as well as of lagers, ales, and ciders. Drink their uniquely crafted beers to your heart’s content but, of course, in moderation.

Two wineries still left to visit.

It’s time for wine tasting. We have chosen two wineries not only for their elegance but also for their top-notch wines and commitment to excellent customer experience.

Semillon has made a mark in Hunter Valley as its iconic wine variety. Almost all wineries have their own versions of Semillon. But worry not, there’s a wide range of wine varieties you can choose from. From Shiraz to Verdelho, from the traditional Cabernet Sauvignon to Nebbiolo, from Chardonnay to Pinot Gris, from Gewurztraminer to Rose, you name it. Mind you, there are over a hundred cellar doors across this picturesque wine region making your Hunter Valley tours more fun, bubbly, and sensational.

When all the charms and magic of the gods and goddesses of the Hunter Valley have done delighting your senses and hitting the right spot, we’d be motoring our way back to Sydney. Leave the driving to us. Our experienced and highly trained driver and guide will even fill your head with more commentary along the way.
