Reasons why you should see for yourself and experience the allure of Yarra Valley:
Yarra Valley produces a wide variety of world class wines that a wine lover would desire -- Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, sparkling wines, you name it.
The valley is proud of its over 170 years of wine growing history dating back to 1838. Yarra Valley’s perfect location, distinct soil composition, and cool climate enable it to grow the best vines that produce world class wines.
There’s much more to wines and the valley’s history -- the great food from fresh produce from local gourmet farms. This is on top of Yarra Valley’s stunning views of hills and valleys. Also, it is located very near Melbourne’s -- a less than an hour drive from the CBD.
Taste the wine and the food. Enjoy the fun and the amazing mountain views. Experience Australian history and culture. And of course, enjoy some free stuff -- free wine, cider, and beer tastings.
The Yarra Valley Winery day tour starts at 7:30 to 8:30 in the morning and returns at around 4:30 in the afternoon. The tour price is not much of a concern since the experience is much greater than your $115.
We’ll bring you to the Gateway Estate where you will tour around the greenhouses and learn some techniques of sustainable farming. You can also try their range of preserves, relishes, strawberry liqueurs, fresh fruits, and cheese. Plus, you will have the option to pick strawberries from the plant.
Then we’ll take you to rustic cellar doors of Napoleone Brewery and Cider House so you can have samples of their ciders and ales. It is located at the heart of Yarra Valley, helping the valley to keep its lively and exciting atmosphere.
The next stop would be Rochford Winery where you can sample their variety of quality wines. You can also pick up some goodies from the shop -- but don’t forget to pay. Enough of free stuff already!
We’ll usher you to Yarra Valley Chocolaterie and Ice-Creamery where you can enjoy free chocolate samples and watch the chocolatiers at work.
We’ll then guide you to the upper side of the Yarra Valley -- to Killara Estate Winery to enjoy a wine tasting followed by an Italian inspired lunch and the best views of the valley.
This Yarra Valley Winery Tour package is good for a day trip, and it includes the following: All wine/cider tastings, local produce for morning tea, a professional entertaining tour guide, winery lunch, water throughout the day, gourmet afternoon tea, cheese/chocolate tastings, on-board cool box to keep your produce fresh.
All you need to bring are: water bottle, hat, sunscreen, comfortable walking shoes, warm and cool clothing, rain jacket, camera and a sense of adventure!
For the pricing deals -- well, you have two options: first, without lunch which cost only $115, and the second, $135 lunch included. If you can book two folks for any of the tour package you can avail a $10 discount. Also, if you want an early morning Hot Air Balloon Flight, prepare $405 per person. Fair enough!
We’ll provide you the best tour guide and driver who will tell you about some interesting historical tales of the valley. Who planted the first vineyard at Yering Station in 1838? When was the first Yarra Valley wine produced? Who made the first wine?
Save your questions. It’s good to talk about things over a few glasses of wine. But hey, the tour is not suitable for kids below 18 years old.
