Itinerary

  • Day 1 - Perth to Cervantes

    Your 8 Day Perth to Exmouth adventure departs between 7.30am – 8:30am and then heads north along the beautiful Sunset Tourist Drive via Scarborough Beach. Your first stop is at Yanchep National Park for a close encounter with some wild koalas. Next you will have the chance to try sand boarding at Lancelin or watch the action and scenic views. After lunch you will travel to Cervantes where there is time walk down to the ocean for a swim and maybe see some of the local Sea Lions swimming close to shore. Your next highlight is Nambung National Park to see the world famous Pinnacles Desert at Sunset, one of the best times to see these mystical limestone statues. You will spend tonight in Cervantes (Dorms). Breakfast & Lunch included

  • Day 2 - Cervantes to Kalbarri

    This morning your journey continues travelling north up the coast, passing through historical Greenough stopping to see the unique horizontal trees. Arrive mid morning at the Hutt River Province, a small breakaway country and the second largest on this continent. Meet a prince and hear about his passion for his own country. Don’t forget to bring your passport you will receive this country’s stamp! Your journey continues to the Kalbarri coast which will take your breath away with its beauty. Migrating whales can be seen from the cliff tops of Kalbarri in season. You will spend tonight in Kalbarri (Dorms). Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner included.

  • Day 3 - Kalbarri to Shark Bay

    Today you will explore deep into Kalbarri National Park to the awesome Z-Bend gorge for some optional abseiling and a hike into this 400 million year old landscape. When time & weather permits we can enjoy a swim in a secluded pool, then hike up to Nature’s Window.  After lunch you continue north into the Midwest Outback, land of few people and huge sheep stations. Discover the strange Hamelin Pool stromatolites, some of the oldest organisms on Earth and believed to be among the first producers of oxygen, before entering the World Heritage area of Shark Bay and the unique Shell Beach. Tonight you stay in Monkey Mia (Dorms. No ensuite for upgrades) Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner included.

  • Day 4 - Shark Bay to Outback Sheep Station

    This morning in Monkey Mia you will meet the world famous Bottlenose Dolphins. Experience a real close encounter as they swim into shore. Enjoy some free time to explore the town or stroll along the beach. Continuing North your tour takes you to Eagle Bluff, from our cliff top spot you may see below lots of wildlife including sharks.  You can begin to see why the locals call this area Big Sky Country, home to the second longest straight road in Australia.  Tonight we have exclusive use of an Outback Sheep Station shearers quarters; really rustic and great fun – take a ride in the back of a ute to a private beach for sunset, toast marshmallows on the camp fire, sit and soak up the ambience of the Outback, test your astronomy skills at our million-star accommodation, and if you like, you can take your bed outside and fall asleep to the sight of the milky-way and the sounds of the Outback.  Sheep Station shearers quarters, twin share (no upgrade available). Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner included.

  • Day 5 - Coral Bay to Exmouth

    This morning you travel to Coral Bay. Coral Bay is famous for the beautiful Ningaloo Reef which is just meters from the white sandy shoreline. Today is full of optional activities; you can sit on the beach and swim, hire snorkel and fins to explore the reef yourself, take a glass bottom boat for a guided tour of what the reef has to offer, or join the Eco day tour to swim with the Coral Bay manta rays (includes lunch).
    After spending an incredible day in Coral Bay you will journey to the Northwest Cape and into Exmouth arriving in the evening. Tonight you will stay at Potshot Resort (Dorms). We have use of all Resort facilities which include 2 swimming pools, bars and restaurants. Breakfast & Dinner included.

  • Day 6 - Explore Exmouth

    Today is a free day in Exmouth for you to explore.. There are day cruises with the Whale Sharks (in season, optional), dive charters to the outer reef (optional), or you can join your tour guide and explore Cape Range and Turquoise Bay. Hire snorkelling equipment (optional) and splash straight into the amazing underwater garden of the Ningaloo Reef either in the Bay or on the Drift.  This snorkelling spot is famous for seeing a myriad of coloured fish. You can often see turtles and octopus too. Continue your journey to Vlamingh Head lighthouse for spectacular views over the tip of the peninsular before heading back to town. Tonight you will stay at Potshot Resort Exmouth (Dorms). Breakfast & Lunch included.

  • Day 7 & 8 - Exmouth to Perth

    It’s time to head back to Perth, we travel south down the highway towards our overnight stop at the Old Convent at Northampton where spooky things can happen. We will stop along the way regularly for anything we may see of interest also fuel, lunch, toilets etc.  Overnight – Old Convent, Northampton (Dorms. No ensuite for upgrades)
    Travelling further back down the highway we arrive in Perth at our start point at approximately lunch time.

    Optional Activities on our Exmouth Explorer Tour

    Kalbarri Abseiling – for 2 descents (beginners)

    Start the day with adventure by abseiling down the gorge walls in Kalbarri National Park with Kalbarri Abseil. No previous experience is necessary, as full training will be provided on site. All equipment provided also. Get photos on your own camera, as guests not participating can take photos for you!

    Swim with Manta Rays on the Ningaloo Reef with Coral Bay Ecotours (snorkeling, competent swimmers only) 

    Enjoy a 5-6 hour tour of the Ningaloo Reef with Coral Bay Ecotours. The day includes all equipment, including a short length wetsuit if required, morning and afternoon tea and a buffet style lunch of cold meats and salads. Enjoy the underwater dance of the manta rays as well as 2 reef snorkels where you will see beautiful fish, corals and possibly sea turtles and reef sharks! They’ll also make a visit to the turtle sanctuary, where you can view turtles coming up for a breath in the shallows.

    Glass Bottom Boat on the Ningaloo Reef with Coral Bay Ecotours 

    Join Coral Bay Ecotours for a tour of the Ningaloo Reef on board their glass bottom boat. Learn about the tropical and temperate fish and corals you see under the glass. Choose between a 1,2 or 3 hour journey. The 1 hour is glass viewing only. The 2 hour journey includes viewing through the glass and a snorkel site. The 3 hour includes viewing through the glass, snorkelling and a visit to the turtle sanctuary, where you can view turtles feeding and coming up for air in the shallows. Your skipper can even try to get the turtles under the glass for you! Snorkel tours include equipment.

    Whaleshark swim (seasonal March-July) with Exmouth Diving Centre (snorkeling, competent swimmers only) 

    Get set for an unforgettable day, as you head out to swim next to the biggest fish in the sea, the whale shark! This is truly a once in a lifetime experience and one that you will never forget! Start the day with a reef snorkel, where you can explore the coral gardens and view beautiful fish. You may even spot a sea turtle or reef shark! Then experience the awe of swimming along-side the whale shark, which are typically 5-10m in length here! All equipment is provided, including a wet-suit if required. Morning and afternoon tea and a delicious lunch also included.

    Whaleshark/Humpback Whale swim (seasonal Aug – Sept) with Exmouth Diving Centre (snorkeling, competent swimmers only) 

    Join King’s Ningaloo Reef tours for an unforgettable day out on the water. Start the day with a reef snorkel, where you can enjoy the beautiful coral gardens and fish. You may even spot some turtles or reef sharks! Then they’ll head out in search of humpback whales and whale sharks with the help of a spotter plane. The humpback whale swim is dependent on the willingness of the whales to be part of the tour. In the event the whales are uncooperative, the plane will search for another group. Should a whale shark be spotted on the day also, guests can upgrade their ticket to include a whale shark swim for an additional $110. All equipment is included as well as a wetsuit if required. Moring and afternoon tea and a buffet style lunch supplied also.

    Scuba Dive the Navy Pier with Exmouth Diving Centre (certified divers only)

    The Navy Pier Exmouth has been voted one of the top 10 dive sites in Australia and one of the top shore dives in the world. The dive is to a maximum depth of 15m and strong currents mean that dives can only be completed during slack tide. Therefore, dive times will vary day to day. Search for nudibranchs, scorpion fish, octopus and eels. Huge groupers, sea snakes, grey nurse sharks, reef sharks and wobbegongs are commonly seen here also, as well as a beautiful array of fish and corals. There is a $50 Navy Entrance payable in cash only on the day (included in above pricing). All equipment supplied.

    Scuba Dive the Ningaloo Reef with Exmouth Dive Centre

    Explore the underwater world during 2 reef dives with Exmouth Dive Centre. There are numerous dive sites to choose from and these will be selected on the day based on conditions. Tours typically run from 7.30am until 4.30pm. See amazing coral formations, beautiful fish, reef sharks, turtles, nudibranchs, eels and more during your 2 dives. All equipment is provided.
