Itinerary

The Yarra Valley is the closest premier wine region to Melbourne, only 40 mins’ drive from the city with central CBD departure. You will soon be sampling all the delights and hidden gems ‘The Valley’ offers.

This cool climate is perfect for producing ChardonnayPinot NoirCabernet SauvignonShiraz, and a range of sparkling wines.

While there are over 170 years of wine-growing history dating back to 1838 from European settlement, the Yarra Valley’s location was longstanding as an area of abundance for the Wurundjeri and Boonwurrung Aboriginal people.

The location, soil composition and cool climate enable the region to grow vines and abundant local produce from the surrounding farmlands. guide

Our Yarra Valley Wine Tours begins with a chocolate lover’s dream! Enjoy this sweet destination with a chocolate-tasting experience overlooking picturesque orchards and spectacular Yarra Valley views. You can view the European chocolatiers at work as they handcraft over 400 different kinds of chocolate available for purchase. You have ample time here to get some local goodies that make for an excellent gift for chocolate lovers. Or grab a coffee or homemade ice cream from the café!

St Hubert’s winery was one of the first wineries in the region, founded in 1862, and helped establish it as a premium wine-producing region in the 1960s. Known for producing exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon, St Huberts now also produces Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Roussanne in its portfolio of excellent climate wines. As part of the winery’s expansion, other reserve wines have been added, such as Sparkling RosePinot Blanc, and Pinot Munier. Guests can visit one of the Valley’s newest contemporary cellar doors with an 8-glass premium tasting experience. Guests will be blown away by the quality of the tastings.

Time to sit back and relax in this beautiful township of Healesville. Free time has been added in Healesville, where guests can grab lunch and explore the gateway town to the Yarra Valley. We designed this tour so our guests can see the Yarra Valley through local eyes rather than being shuttled from winery to winery. Exploring Healesville’s local shopsgalleries, cafes, and restaurants would be best. (at the guest’s own expense)

We spend the afternoon visiting two more of our favourite family-run small boutique wineries for tastings. Our schedule will be adjusted accordingly as our group size or availability changes. Some of our Yarra Valley Wine Tour favourite cellar door stops are Yering Farm WinesMedhurst WinesYering StationKillara EstateNapoleone Cider & Orchard BarRochford Wines Yarra ValleyHelen & Joey’s Wines, and more. Enjoy a glass of wine and an incredible wine selection while you relax in the calm country surroundings.

We had wine tours from Melbourne to the Yarra Valley with Wildlife Tours. Their winery tours provide a comprehensive wine-tasting experience, with visits to some of the best vineyards in the area. The tour guide Rob is knowledgeable and friendly, providing an informative and enjoyable experience for all passengers. On their winery tours yarra valley, we had different sample wines, enjoyed a delicious meal and took beautiful photographs of the stunning scenery.

  2. Leon was our navigation guy. He was absolutely lovely and so helpful. He got a whole group of strangers bonding over a fun game of bocce baall. I asked him about what wines we’d be tasting at each venue and he called ahead to make sure I could try a specific variety. In addition to wine, we tried chocolates, cider and fresh local produce. Despite the rainy day, me and my friends had such a fun time. Highly recommend tasting tour for anyone with a mild to above-average interest in wine.

  3. Yarra Valley landscape is wahou! With some mountain views and vineyards…
We could taste real Aussie wine, beer and cider in different places, which was awesome!
I had an unforgettable experience there.
I highly recommend wildlife private tours for this Melbourne winery tour

Thanks to our Tour best winery tour Yarra valley Guide (Buck), we had an absolutely enjoyable day ‘in paradise’. Such a professionally run ship so to speak, we enjoyed pretty much every aspect (just a little light on information at the Chocolate Factory). We loved the relaxation side of this day tour on the final day of our vacation prior to returning to New Zealand. Thanks so much, will use Wildlife Best private tours on future trips.

  5. I’m very happy that I’ve chosen Wild Tours Australia. Provided excursion and all services were just excellent!

Booking of the tour is super-easy (just using the website of Wild Tours).
Craig was very professional and with a great sense of humour. He helped the excursion to go smoothly, with lots of fun and activities.

We visited 3 wineries, a brewery (to try beer and cider), a local farm and a chocolate factory. All places, apart from planned sampling activities, also have nice views of Yarra valley, so you are able to enjoy not only the food but also nature.

We also got to know each other, so this excursion is also great for meeting and talking to people from all over the world.

Definitely recommend the best testing tour!!!

Fantastic tour! Our guidy Rob was friendly and full of life (even at 7:30 am!). He was knowledgeable about the area, patient and a good overall guide, to the point where a few of us decided to do some extra tastings at a winery- he let us stay and came back to pick us up afterwards… a 10/10 service!

It was nice to start at Gateway Estate for a tour, coffee and a cheese platter. The wineries were lovely, and I really enjoyed going to Napoleone Brewery and cider house as something a little different. The chocolate shop was also nice however we could have spent a little less time there.

Overall lovely Yarra valley winery tours from Melbourne, would definitely recommend 🙂
