Depart from Docklands to Portarlington aboard the Port Phillip Ferry. – Whilst on board the Port Phillip Ferry explore the back deck and experience the sea breeze on your face as take in the picturesque scenery and capture your memories in a photo or two.  The modern 35m catamarans are the most environmentally-friendly crafts operating in Australia.  The Port Phillip Ferry is designed for your comfort, so you can relax as you delight in the attractions in the bay, whilst you chat, catch up on screen time, read the newspaper or emails, or merely soak in your 90 minute trip to Portarlington.
 
Arrive on the Bellarine Peninsula at Portarlington - Meet your friendly and informative Get Lost Travel guide at the end of the pier. Take a picturesque drive through the quaint town of Portarlington and then through the surrounding farming areas as you head to the seaside township of Point Lonsdale for morning tea.  Hear all about the notorious stretch of water know as the ‘RIP’ and the historic shipwrecks in the region. Stroll along the shore, explore the rock pools and marvel at William Buckley's Cave situated in the cliffs under the Point Lonsdale lighthouse and relive the history of the infamous convict William Buckley who escaped from prison near Sorrento in 1803.
 
Drive to historic Queenscliff - With its gorgeous stately old hotels and a time honoured military and maritime past, Queenscliff is the Bellarine Peninsula’s jewel and unites the best of the traditional and current worlds.  Catch the lift or climb the stairs to the top of the Queenscliff Harbour Observation Tower which rises 40 metres into the air and has stunning 360 degree views of Queenscliff and Port Phillip Bay. Take a stroll around the new harbour area and marvel at the views.
 

Visit to Oakdene Winery for wine tastings amongst the eclectic art and gardens – Enjoy an informative wine tasting session, some retail therapy and a stroll around the eclectic and intriguing art gardens which are sure to inspire you with their rustic appeal.  You will feel like you are ‘Dorothy’ from the Wizard of Oz as you enter the Oakdene Winery for Tastings at the cellar door, in the 'Upside-Down House'!  The cellar door is situated in an A frame timber house that appears to have been tipped over sideways by a hurricane! You won’t believe your eyes - as the roof line sits on the ground with the wooden stumps open to the elements!  The contemporary design and surroundings blend tastefully to complete a remarkable and very practical tasting room. The welcoming staff at Oakdene Winery are proud to showcase their wide range of award winning wines, the quirky and intriguing property, or to help you settle on which wines to select. There are also extra virgin olive oils from the Oakdene grove and gifts to purchase if you choose.

Scotchmans Hill Winery tastings and platters - The exquisite new cellar door is an old French rustic farmhouse or ‘barn’ that is positioned amid the impeccably cared for vineyards on the estate. Guests to the new cellar door will be able to appreciate a distinctive and quality wine tasting experience and marvel at the impressive views over Port Phillip Bay to Melbourne.  All this character is complimented by gourmet cheese platters provided by award winning Pik Nik Café.  Scotchmans Hill was established in 1982 and is situated in the heart of the Bellarine Peninsula.  Scotchmans Hill is a proud creator of exceptional cool maritime climate wines and has been a prominent local winery for over thirty years, and is regarded amongst James Halliday’s Top 100 Australian Wineries.

Be amazed by all the great variety of culinary delights as you savour some of the most tantalising treats of perfectly cooked mussels direct from the farm gate Café, as you relax in the outdoor alfresco area.  Learn how mussels are farmed on the Bellarine Peninsula whilst enjoying a beer or wine.  Advance Mussel Supply has been an innovator in developing the latest growing techniques as well as constructing speciality equipment and boats.  Advance Mussel Supply are a family owned and operated business and have been farming mussels in Port Phillip Bay for over 30 years, they are one of the earliest and leading Mussel farmers in Port Phillip Bay. Whilst you savour the many varied and tasty ways to eat mussels you will be glad to learn that you can take a slice of fresh produce home and cook yourself if you choose.  You can purchase fresh Mussels by the kg or by the box – as well as oysters, Prawns, Scallops and Abalone.

Return to Port Phillip Ferry and complete your journey back to the Docklands.
