History of Hubert Estate

Hubert de Castella, one of the Yarra Valley’s founding winemakers, established the heritage wine label St Hubert’s in the 1800s. At the time, the Yarra Valley was a new wine region, and Hubert de Castella was one of the key people promoting its cool-climate wines. Over the years, St Hubert’s became one of the region’s most famous wineries, producing high-quality cabernet and solidifying its place in Australian wine history.

Today, Hubert Estate continues this tradition by combining the old with the new. The stunning new cellar door, part of the estate’s recent makeover, is a perfect example of how past and present merge. The design concept is inspired by the rolling hills of the Yarra Valley, with a curved form that mirrors the natural surroundings. The entry is designed to be grand and welcoming, with a dramatic entry drive that leads you to the heart of the estate.
