About Helen and Joey's Estate

Founded by Helen Xu and Joey Zeng, Helen & Joey Estate has become an institution in the Yarra Valley wine scene. The estate’s history is a reflection of their passion for making great wine and respecting the land’s cultural and agricultural heritage. Helen Xu, of Chinese descent, wanted a vineyard that would not only produce good wine but also be a bridge between cultures. This vision is realised with the estate’s Chinese-inspired restaurant, Re’em Yarra Valley, where food and wine come together in a beautiful way.

The Concept of Helen & Joey Estate

The founders, Helen Xu and Joey Zeng, love tradition and modernity. They wanted a winery that would reflect their love for the Yarra Valley but with a global outlook. They introduced rare varietals like Cabernet Franc alongside the classic Cabernet Sauvignon. This is also reflected in the estate’s collaboration with Melbourne glass artist Mark Douglas, who created a beautiful custom-designed art installation for the cellar. The estate has a 12-seat private tasting room perfect for intimate occasions or special tastings.
