Get on the bus and head to Cape Jervis

Meet your guide for the next 2 days during the pick-ups from selected Adelaide Hotels between 6.30 and 6.45 am. Listen to expert commentary as we drive to Cape Jervis for the 45-minute ferry crossing to Kangaroo Island.

Get to Kangaroo Island

Once on the ferry, grab a toasted sandwich and a coffee from the Ferry kiosk (at your own cost) and then choose a comfy chair by the window or take the stairs to the top deck and feel the wind in your hair as you take in the views. If you’re lucky you might even see dolphins playing in the bow of the ferry. Get excited as we arrive on Kangaroo Island.

Arrive at Penneshaw

On the northeast coast of Kangaroo Island, Penneshaw welcomes ferry arrivals with its peaceful coastline, rolling hills and charming streets. As we hop on the Kangaroo Island coaster, the tour group will take a quick drive through Penneshaw. We won’t stop here this time but the seaside town has plenty to see and some great places to eat for our return visit. This short drive will give you a taste of Penneshaw’s natural beauty, cultural attractions and foodie delights and will be a highlight of your day.

Kangaroo Island is bigger than you think. We cover a lot of km’s over the 2 days but we have structured this tour so we never spend more than 45 min on the bus at one time.

Stokes Bay:

Swim, Relax, and Enjoy the View. Located on the northern coast of Kangaroo Island Stokes Bay is a little hidden gem! Capturing the essence of natural beauty and peace. Known for its beautiful setting, calm water and laid-back atmosphere it’s the perfect place for your tour group to stop, take a swim and soak up the charm of this coastal haven. What makes Stokes Bay different is its natural swimming area, a haven for beachgoers looking for calm, protected water. The beach leads to a sheltered lagoon formed by a rocky reef, perfect for swimmers of all levels. Keep an eye out for the many Dolphin pods that frequent the bay and if you’re lucky they might visit us. Get back on the bus and head to our overnight stay.

Day 2

Waking up at Eleanor Downs Farm is good for the body and soul. Enjoy local Kangaroo Island goodies in the rustic Old Shearing Shed as you take in the views. Every bit of the morning is Kangaroo Island. As you head out for the day’s adventures the farm stay calmness stays with you, leaving you feeling refreshed, renewed and ready to take on the island.
Now we’re off to the legendary Flinders Chase National Park. A highlight of our Kangaroo Island Adventure and a must-see. Kangaroo Island’s rugged natural beauty and icons. See the Remarkable Rocks, a dramatic granite formation and Admirals Arch where New Zealand fur seals play by the ocean. Take in the coastal views, ancient landscapes and wildlife. For the adventurous there’s a chance to walk the park’s trails and get up close and personal with the wilderness. Whether you’re gazing at the geological wonders or trekking through the different habitats Flinders Chase is a nature lover’s paradise.
We have a catered picnic lunch in this amazing spot. Little Sahara on Kangaroo Island is a natural wonder, massive sand dunes surrounded by bushland. For the adventurous this is a must-do, sandboard or toboggan down the giant dunes (own cost). For the more laid back take a walk across the sand and marvel at the contrast between the dunes and the greenery. Whether you’re racing down the slopes or taking photos of this surreal landscape Little Sahara is an adventure for all ages.
Our last stop before Penneshaw is Seal Bay Conservation Park. A chance to see endangered Australian sea lions in the wild. Guided by rangers you’ll walk along the beach and learn all about these amazing creatures while observing their daily activities up close. From playful pups in the surf to adults basking on the sand after a foraging trip, this is a deep connection to these incredible animals. Seal Bay is not just a wildlife experience but an educational and ethical experience that will leave you in awe of Kangaroo Island’s ecosystem. A must-see for anyone looking for inspiration and a nature fix.
Dinner (own cost): Free time in Penneshaw before we board the Ferry back to Adelaide. You have about an hour to chill out and reflect on your Kangaroo Island wildlife adventure. This is a great spot to grab a bite to eat (at your own cost), take a walk around the town, and enjoy the views or the beach. As we board the ferry back to Adelaide you’ll be taking home with you memories of your Kangaroo Island Wildlife Adventure.

Hop back on the ferry and return to Adelaide at approximately 10 pm.

Take a break in Kingscote:

Free Time and Coffee Stop Kingscote is the largest town on Kangaroo Island and the perfect place to take a break during your tour. Here your guide will cook up a storm of locally sourced meats, fresh salads and crusty bread. Vegetarian options are available, too, so everyone can enjoy them. The BBQ is more than just a meal – it’s a social occasion. The fire pit (season dependant) will add warmth and ambiance to this true blue Aussie experience.
