Katoomba Falls
The spectacular views of Jamison Valley drown you in fascination. There’s the Three Sisters, Mount Solitary, and Narrow Neck Plateau. Then there’s the Katoomba Falls, very close to Echo Point. Climb down via the Giant Stairway to the valley floor and walk a little further to the foot of the waterfall. Walk on a 1.5-kilometer circuit to have a nice view of the spectacular Katoomba Falls.
The waters drop a stunning 244-meter plunge into Jamison Valley, making Katoomba Falls the most famous waterfall in the Blue Mountains. Have a bird’s eye view of the waterfall through the Scenic Skyway, a cable car that runs on suspension 270 meters over Jamison Valley.
Katoomba Falls is floodlit at night. Schedule your Blue Mountains tours at night to catch the spectacular views of the falls with the dark night sky at the backdrop.
Govetts Leap Falls
The Govetts Leap Falls, an impressive waterfall known as Bridal Veil Falls, is close to the town of Blackheath. A 180-meter steep water drop plunging into the Grose Valley is breathtaking. From the lookout, the waterfalls accentuated the panoramic landscape overlooking the Grose Valley. It is a scenery of cliffs, falling water, lush vegetation, and diverse wildlife.
Take a walk into the base of the falls and expect the company of lovely parrots and cockatoos. At the foot of the cliff, there are spots with great views to have a picnic with your family and friends.
Wentworth Falls
With three drops falling over a 187-metre-high cliff, Wentworth Falls is arguably the most scenic of the waterfalls in the Blue Mountains. It offers a unique, calming Blue Mountains tour experience with nature. Take a bushwalk at Charles Darwin Walk, the famous track that the naturalist trekked during his visit in 1836. Then you will get a reward — the magical views of the majestic waterfall.
You may also take another route via the Overcliff-Undercliff trail. This is a challenging climb. But the views are impressive from this vantage point. Lush rainforest and impressive ravines and cliffs adorn the scenery. Plus, the wildflowers in spring and summer.
Minnehaha Falls
From Minni Ha Ha Road, north of Katoomba, take a kilometer hike to the beautiful Minnehaha Falls. What you get as a reward is not just the plunging water. You can also plunge yourself into the calm waters of Minnehaha. Take a dip in its pool or picnic around the pool’s edge. The fantastic natural scenery creates a relaxed, serene, peaceful, and calm environment.
