History of Rhyll
Rhyll has a long and varied history to its land. First, the Bunurong people inhabited the land, and they had a solid connection to their cultural practices in this place; then, Europeans arrived in the 19th century. The name was derived from a village in Wales, which quickly became a busy port town due to its position on Phillip Island. Many Europeans settled there, and it was named after that Welsh village.
